Gingerbread
Gingerbread, which is spicy-sweet with cloves, cinnamon, and, of course, ginger, ranges from crisp cookies (preferably in the shape of a human) to tender cakes. Among Roadfood’s favorite gingerbread creations are gingerbread pancakes at Jigger’s Diner in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, chocolate gingerbread coffee cake at Blue Scorcher Bakery in Astoria, Oregon, and gingerbread biscotti at Clayton’s Coffee Shop in Coronado, California.
