Fried Pie

Fried pie is at its best in Arkansas, but it can be found in pie shops and cafes throughout the South. It is a single-serving crescent of pie-crust pastry pinched around traditional fillings – apple, peach, apricot, sweet potato – and deep fried until brittle. Unlike a slice from a whole pie, a fried pie is portable.
