Fried Green Tomato Sandwich

Fried green tomatoes almost never are alone in a sandwich, but their one-two punch of tomato tartness and lush fried crust make them an inspired addition to grilled cheese and hamburgers and a tongue-teasing substitute for ripe red tomatoes in a BLT. At Sisters and Brothers restaurant in Seattle, they are sandwiched with pimento cheese on a brioche bun.
