Country Fried Steak

A cousin of chicken-fried steak, country fried steak differs from its better-known relative in that it is simply is dredged in flour, then fried as opposed to being batter-dipped before frying. Also, it normally is served with brown gravy made from pan drippings as opposed to chicken-fried steak’s white cream gravy.
