Coleslaw

Customarily a minor player on the plate and sometimes a condiment for hot dogs or hamburgers, cole slaw can be as simple as shredded cabbage that is creamy-sweet or vinegar-tangy. In North Carolina, barbecue parlors sometimes add zesty sauce to the slaw; and in Kansas we have encountered slaw infused with massive amounts of garlic.
