A Buddha bowl is a one-dish meal named because it is served in a bowl that is round like The Enlightened One’s belly. Almost any ingredients are acceptable, so long as they have a healthful reputation: rice or some other whole grains, roasted vegetables, a protein that isn’t meat — tofu, beans, or quinoa, for instance – and such add-ons as sesame or chia seeds, sliced avocado, eggs, sweet corn kernels, and dressing that isn’t store-bought ranch.
