Baked Apple

Good baked apples are seasonal, made from autumn into winter when the fruits are recently picked. Aside from its intense apple flavor, which gets magnified by the baking process, a baked apple delivers a unique chewing experience by just barely crossing the line from fruit that is firm and fresh into something that yields with the tenderness of fruit in a cobbler.
