After the Boston Tea Party, tea took a big hit in America, where coffee continues to reign as the hot beverage of choice. But just as coffee consciousness has blossomed in the last 50 years, so tea has become much more than a bag of Lipton’s in a cup of hot water. Today’s tea drinkers can get fermented kombucha, matcha green tea, salubrious herbal teas, spicy chai tea, and, of course, bottled tea in every flavor under the sun.
