About Cuisine

Expect such old-world dishes as chicken-in-a-pot and boiled beef bones, potato pancakes, and noodle pudding. If you’re lucky, you’ll get pitchers of schmaltz (chicken fat) to pour on your rye bread before the meal. Jewish does not necessarily mean kosher, although some of the most venerable Jewish restaurants are strictly dairy.
