White Cottage
We were in Woodstock, VT last year, not long after Hurricane Irene passed through. The destruction caused by the storm was of historic proportions, and after witnessing the damage to the White Cottage firsthand, we felt fairly certain that they had served their final order of fried clams. We are happy to report that we were wrong. The White Cottage has recently reopened for business! In the Roadfood.com review of White Cottage, Michael Stern noted that their "breezy tables are just right for excellent made-to-order hamburgers, hot dogs and foot-longs served Yankee-style in grilled rolls, and fried clams, available whole-bellied or as strips."

Grimaldi Pie
Here's the latest on Grimaldi's (see the Roadfood.com review of the Scottsdale, AZ Grimaldi's): they'll be opening their fifth Florida branch this fall, in Tampa, in the Westfield Citrus Park Mall. A Clifton, NJ branch has recently opened in a former Charlie Brown's steak house. The address is 1296 Van Houten Avenue and, oddly, it's called Grimaldi's Pizza CB Steaks. Seems the steaks aren't a hit and they'll soon be serving an all-Italian menu. Finally, and most intriguingly, Grimaldi's is setting up shop in Coney Island, the home turf of Totonno's. This second Brooklyn Grimaldi's will be on Surf Avenue, across from Luna Park and about five blocks from Totonno's on Neptune Avenue.

The takeover continues: Shake Shack has plans to expand into Philadelphia this summer, and New Haven this fall (see the Roadfood.com review of Shake Shack in NYC ). The Philly Shack will be located at the corner of 20th and Sansom, while the address for the New Haven Shack will be 986 Chapel Street. New Haven is already pointing out that Yale is beating Harvard in the Shack Bowl; the Boston-area Shack won't be open until next year.

Refried beans and green chile beef make this fry bread taco quite the tasty treat. The light, chewy texture makes it totally addictive.

Best Stop Boudin
It's official: The Louisiana State Legislature has named Scott The Boudin Capital of the World. 1.3 million pounds of boudin was sold in Scott last year, and there are six boudin makers in or near the city. They are: Don's Specialty Meats (see the Roadfood.com review), Best Stop Supermarket (that's their boudin pictured above), Billy's Boudin & Cracklins, Early's Food Store, Mike's Country Corner, and Romero's Grocery. What about Jennings? Aren't they already The Boudin Capital of the Universe? Sure; and while it may be a point best left to philosophers, the universe is not the world. The city of Scott brought more than 50 pounds of boudin to the legislative session before the vote was taken. We are certain that played no part in the final tally.

A 'personal size' pizza is in fact one-half of a small pizza, but is more than large enough for one pretty hungry person.
