I was born and raised in Massachusetts and my parents moved to Rhode Island in 1980. There they discovered Iggy's Doughboys Restaurant and introduced me to the finest seafood I have ever had. I will travel all the way from Arizona, where I now live, just to have clamcakes, lobster roll and dough boys.
Sinking my teeth into one of Iggy's luscious clamcakes is pure heaven. It is always our first stop after arriving at the airport. Even my son, who cannot eat seafood, absolutely loves the cheeseburgers. And to have their own brand of soda pop is such a treat. We have such fun getting the doughboys for dessert. Shake the bag and get the sugar onto each and every hot piece of dough, so everyone can enjoy sweetness with every bite.
I always rave about how you order your food, pick it up and either sit on the beach or in the dining room and enjoy the ocean view. Will be visiting again soon and all I can think of is IGGY'S! IGGY'S!!!
"A doughboy, served hot and spangled with sugar, is addictive."

"An only-in-Rhode Island passion: snail salad. It's cool, garlicky, and refreshing."

"You know you are in Rhode Island by the choice of chowders, the listing of fish and chips, and the prominence of clam cakes. Snail salad is an off-the-menu daily special."
