In the Road

This is some of the best street food I have ever eaten. This is not a food truck per se. It's a kitchen on wheels. The chef cooks each entree and sandwich to order right in front of you.

The meats are smoked 15 hours. The hand-cut French fries are fried with fresh rosemary. The burger comes with bacon sour cream, aged cheddar, caramelized onions, and lots of homemade pickles. The sausage and peppers is garnished with crispy fried onion straws. The pork tacos and duck tacos use fresh local corn and homemade salsas on soft corn tortillas.

Each time I visit there is a daily special. It is hard to spend more than $10 or $12 for an entree, side, and beverage. It's served in less than five minutes and you get to watch a chef cook it right in front of you. Nothing is held for serving later. This is fresh gourmet street food from an immaculately clean kitchen.

The crispy fried onions differentiate this sandwich from the usual peppers and onions.

Fried green tomatoes are corn meal crusted and served with a spicy remoulade sauce.
