If you want a small town experience with a great, simple meal, you have to visit Village Burger in Dunwoody, Georgia, outside the northern perimeter of Atlanta. This little shack has outstanding hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, and fries (be sure to try the seasoned fries). And if you really want the local experience be sure to dip everything in the Village Sauce.
The Village Burger slogan is "For the People of Dunwoody, By the People of Dunwoody," and the native owners have gone above and beyond to infuse the place with a true neighborhood vibe. There's live music on the patios at times, it's open late for local Little League teams, and the staff is friendly and local. Everything about Village Burger feels like an everybody's-welcome, first-name-basis kind of hangout that actually makes me wish I lived a lot closer.
"For those with a smaller appetite, the single-pattied House Burger is available, here with cheddar."

"Do not miss the French fries here. These are golden, skin-on, hand-cut beauties!"

"Although these concretes don't remind me of what they serve at Ted Drewes in St. Louis, they are still a satisfying way to end your meal. This is chocolate custard with peanut butter cups mixed in."
