When you sink your teeth into a warm Tal Bagel, its outside skin audibly crunches. Beneath the skin, faintly sour dough is dense enough to provide a real chew. Good as Tal Bagels are hot from the store, when you take some home and slice them later in the day or even the next morning, they retain their tightly packed character (although the bliss of oven-freshness is gone) and they make extra-chewy toast.
