Moved to Lafayette (about ten miles away) two years ago, and this has quickly become one of my all-time favorite restaurants. The zydeco breakfast on Saturday mornings is a must if you're visiting the area; something you will absolutely remember the rest of your life. Have the oreille de cochon stuffed with boudin; it's legendary.

Saturday breakfast is loud and full of energy. Other meals there are far more laid back and relaxing, but in both cases the food is superb. Absolutely worth a special trip. A true taste of Acadiana.

Thick with corn, crawfish and shrimp, this creamy soup could be a meal in itself.

Eggs Begnaud: a grilled biscuit topped with crawfish etouffee and/or crawfish au gratin and two eggs (with cheese grits on the side). In this case, Jane asked for her eggs cooked hard. They are covering a mountain of wonderful crawfish.
