Turtle Alley

42 Rogers Street, Gloucester, MA - (978) 281-4000
These are extraordinarily good-looking turtles, unlike mass-produced ones because their nuts are not totally plastered with chocolate. Instead, the nuts are implanted in the caramel underneath the chocolate so that they stick out the side. Some really do look anatomically correct; others look like cartoon turtles with a dozen flippers paddling all around the shell.

The ultimate, last word in turtle pulchritude. This one has crisp, lightly-salted almonds and soft caramel as well as cherries and apricots inside its dark chocolate shell.

Although turtles are the specialty of the house, Turtle Alley crafts all manner of chocolate temptations.

Another Turtle Alley assortment. Note the chocolate-robed apricot at the rear left of the photo: a must-eat!
