Friday, March 23, 2014: America's Hometown Sweets

If you are a person who doesn't like dessert...

... or hates chocolate...

... then you probably don't want to know about the Friday night kickoff party for this year's Roadfood Festival in New Orleans (Now named FOODFEST: America's Hometown Eats).

For those of us who do enjoy pie, cake, ice cream, candy, cookies, frothy libations, chocolate, and more chocolate, the March 28 event is Heaven on Earth. Delicious desserts and sweets of every kind, provided by legendary restaurants of New Orleans, Louisiana, and around America, will be available for attendees to sample, savor, and binge on all evening long. Nowhere else will you have the opportunity to indulge in so many diverse ways to sate a sweet tooth. Proceeds from the event benefit our partner, Cafe Reconcile, which hosts the affair in their spectacular space on Oretha C. Haley Boulevard. Tickets are $50 per person, and attendance is limited, so please go to this website now and make plans to join us.

We are especially looking forward to the return of Florida's Key Lime Pie Company, which offers out-of-this-world chocolate-covered Key Lime Pie on a stick:
