After breakfast at the Friendly Toast in Cambridge last weekend, I came to the conclusion that I really can't argue over sausage gravy in any form. I've been living away from the South long enough not to nitpick over made-from-scratch gravy vs. gravy whipped up from a dry mix. It's one of those foods that I simply miss too much to gripe, and this special (above) incorporated poached eggs, sausage, bacon, home fries, and toast to a degree approaching epicness. Never mind that the chopped-up sausage wasn't cooked with the gravy, and the gravy may've been too uniform to be truly homemade...because it was divinely delicious. And that freshly baked bread on the bottom put this dish completely over the top!
