We just learned from Roadfood.com reader vhb247 that Magnolia's, the small cafe across the street from the Patterson, NY train station, has closed. They apparently shut down last year at the end of October. The space is now occupied by a restaurant called Front Street Cafe. Michael Stern, in his Roadfood.com review of Magnolia's, expressed particular fondness for the sandwiches: "The regular repertoire includes a Local Hero portabello mushroom and eggplant sandwich on focaccia bread and the “Ludington” cheese and tomato sandwich on hearth bread (named after Revolutionary War heroine Sybil Luddington)." We'll archive the review tomorrow.
