This one surprised us. The usual reaction when we hear of an anniversary of some sort is, "Could it really have been that long?" But the Maine Diner was opened in February of 1983, making this month their 30th anniversary (see the review). Somehow, we were under the impression it had been slinging its famous lobster pie and seafood chowder decades earlier than that. Anyway, read about the anniversary in Seacoast Online.

Visited in September just prior to CT Tour beginning. The line was out the door, but as a sinlge, got an end seat at the counter right away. The lobster pie and blueberry pie were spectactular!

I would have also guessed that Maine Diner is much older.

We go to Maine every year or so and to see the lines out the door here amazes me. I wish someone would open another diner within a few miles so this trap would stop living on its press. It's okay, some good dishes but ... really.
