Top 20 Burgers of Hartford, CT

Just in time for all you Roadfood pilgrims making your way to the 2012 Roadfood Eating Tour of Connecticut, Hartford Magazine has posted a feature on what they claim are the top 20 burgers in and around Hartford. There's also a steamed cheeseburger sidebar with five additional listings, and an honorable mention list of another 35 burger restaurants (the Shady Glen burger pictured above made the honorable mention list; see the Roadfood.com review). Be sure to save some appetite for the weekend!

Hartford Mag did a great job in COMPLETELY sidestepping any opinion whatsoever about steamed cheeseburgers (read: they probably didn't bother trying any of them). Everyone knows that K. LaMay's and the Lunchbox (not included on their list) are 100x better than Ted's anyway...

Is the problem that Ted's has gone downhill in recent years? When we visited a few years ago we loved the steamed cheeseburgers.

Compared to K. LaMay's and Lunchbox, Ted's loses steam and ends up bland-tasting.

I like Ted's just fine, but visited K. LaMay's earlier this year and it was clearly better.

I didn't see Shady Glen on this list. I actually prefer the cheesefurters, but every time I've been there (not for more than a year, admittedly) I've seen tons of people devouring their cheeseburgers with gusto.
