Italian Dog
The thing about boardwalk dining is, while there are usually a couple of can't miss food stands, most of what you sample comes from one of the dozens of semi-anonymous hot dog and ice cream and seafood and pizza stands you encounter up and down the boards. We have no idea from whence this Italian hot dog came, other than someplace on the Seaside Park, NJ boardwalk. Everything was cooked on the flattop, not deep-fried, and the bread could have been fresher, but Seaside Park is not Newark and, you know, it really was not bad at all. Even better were some fresh-cut fries:
