The roast beef sandwich pictured here, slathered with horseradish sauce, is the signature dish at the Bridgewater Country Fair, which is going on right now (August 17-19, 2012) in Connecticut. It's long been a favorite country fair of ours, with all the mischievous eats of a state fair, as well as real country charm.

What would any fair be without some kind of fried dough, which, in New England, is cleverly known as fried dough. The portion I had, pictured above, is sprinkled with powdered sugar and cinnamon sugar. In addition to these eats, the Bridgewater repertoire includes pulled pork, corn dogs, sweet corn, etc. If you happen to be anywhere nearby this weekend and find yourself with an appetite for fair food, do check it out.
