Beer
There's a new brewpub in town (the only one in Binghamton), named Water Street Brewing Co. We spoke with John Bleichert, who opened the brewery in March. He's a former home brewer who is bucking the current American trend toward extreme beers, especially those that are all about the hops. He prides himself on balanced brews. After a steady diet of American IPAs it was fascinating to taste the delicious malt flavors in his products. Atmosphere is cool and spare, with the brewing tanks front and center. There's also a menu of soups, salads, and sandwiches which we didn't try. Check it out if you're in town.
