Shake Shack Burger
Who hasn't been faced with this problem at some time or other in her or his life: you are all set to open a new restaurant when you discover that the current tenant of the space you plan to move into will not vacate the premises, despite the fact that their lease has expired and you have a signed current lease with the landlord? OK, perhaps that's not so common a situation, but it's exactly what Shake Shack (see the Roadfood.com review) is facing as they try to open in New York City's Grand Central Terminal. This new Shake Shack has been anticipated for about a year, but the restaurant Zocalo will not leave and is suing the MTA and Shake Shack. Read the whole story in Crain's New York Business.

What is it with the buns from Shake Shack? We have been to Shale Shack a handful of times, and the buns are WET EVERY TIME. From the photo posted here, it looks like yet another example of a WET bun. Why does Shake Shack do this? It's an otherwise pretty good burger.

That burger is from Citi Field. Is it water or grease?

Like Five Guys, they probably wrap the burger in foil. Drives me crazy as I, in an etymologically literal sense, am DISGUSTED by damp bread!

The Shake Shack burgers we've had were in South Beach (Miami Beach). We always eat them at the restaurant, rather than to go. But, it doesn't matter. The buns are wet right from the get go ... every time. We keep going back when we're in South Beach, thinking the wet buns the previous time were an anomaly. Nope. It looks like the wet buns are the norm at Shake Shack. We live in northern VA ... the heart of Five Guys country. We have eaten well over a hunded of those, and can only recall a couple times that they had damp buns. (Like Shack Shack, we always eat them there, not to go.). Shake Shack is something like 6 for 6 now for wet buns. The few times that Five Guys were damp, they were only "damp". Shake Shack buns are just about downright "wet." I wonder why they are doing that?

Potato rolls are moister than normal hamburger rolls.
