Gourmet Live has just published our list of 10 fun food festivals around the country. Will you be attending any this summer? (Above are the Green Chile Queen and the Red Chile Queen from the Chile Festival in Hatch, New Mexico. The picture was taken many years ago when we first starting hunting Roadfood.)

Holy Smoke! You left out the Bratwurst Festival in Bucyrus, Ohio, the Tomato Festival in Reynoldsburg, Ohio (I swear they say Reynoldsburg is the Birthplace of the Tomato), the Sweet Corn Festival in Millersport, Ohio and the Pumpkin Festival in Circleville, Ohio.

"Birthplace of the tomato": I must know how that happened. What were its parents? Was it born on purpose or were they trying to create something else and the tomato was a fortuitous accident?

Cheese Days in Monroe, Wisconsin. Fiesta Day in Sterling/Rock Falls, Illinois. Lots of great Mexican-American street food.

Birthplace of the Tomato refers to Alexander W. Livingston, the man who developed the commercial tomato in 1870.

I know the timing was a little off for it to be included in the article...but the Big Apple BBQ Block Party happened this year without a word about it...on the front page.
