Half Shell
Key West's Half Shell Raw Bar (see the Roadfood.com review) was shut down last Monday for what safety and sanitation inspectors called "critical violations," including "live roach activity as evidenced by 60-plus live roaches found in main kitchen, steam kitchen and prep kitchen, crawling on walls, floors and prep tables." The inspectors returned Tuesday morning and found the violations corrected. They were then permitted to reopen.

I lived in Key West back in the 70's and that place was one of my haunts. After a year I moved to Ketchum, Idaho just like Ernest.

I'm shocked that if the critical violations were corrected within 24 hours, why weren't they corrected before? Seems like it wasn't too hard. Almost makes me think someone sabotaged them or something because who would work with live cockroaches?!

Seriously? From 60 cockroaches to none? None in sight does not equal none in the walls, etc. Scary. I'll avoid this place like the plague (pun intended).
