Sather Waffles
The Edgewater Beach neighborhood of Chicago will soon see the arrival of the fifth Ann Sather Swedish restaurant, according to reports in Chicago Eater and Chicago Phoenix. The restaurant at 1147 West Granville is expected to open in early- to mid-May. In his Roadfood.com review of the original Ann Sather in Lakeview (which was owned by a real Ann Sather until 1981), Michael Stern noted that "most Chicagoans know it for superb breakfasts: gorgeous ooey-gooey cinnamon rolls, flannel-thin Swedish pancakes, crisp waffles, and sizzled-crisp Swedish sausage." We envy you, Edgewater Beach residents!
