Hollywood stars filming in Stonington: wtnh.com

Part of Stonington, CT's appeal for visitors (and, presumably, many residents) is how much it captures a mind's eye view of an old-fashioned Maine seaside town.  Which, no doubt, is also what appealed to the producers of the upcoming film Great Hope Springs, which is expected to open December 2012The town has been made up to look like the fictional Maine town of Great Hope Springs, and part of that set preparation involved converting Noah's Restaurant (see the Roadfood.com review) into the Nor'easter Diner.  Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones will be filming here until October 7th.  On October 8th, if all goes according to plan, the Nor'easter becomes Noah's once more.

If you're planning a visit to Noah's over the next week or two we recommend giving them a call first.  They will certainly be closed for at least some, if not all, of the time Hollywood is in town.
