This weekend's broadcast of The Splendid Table will include our report about Dr. Ho's Humble Pie, a charming eatery in North Garden, Virginia, where Turner Ham House ham is used to top this "Bellissima" pizza, which also includes arugula, shaved Parmesan cheese, and a glaze of lemon vinaigrette.

A couple of other treats from the Dr. Ho's menu are hot milk cake:


... and a "crispy grits-n-greens" salad:


Love the idea of Turner Ham House ham on top of a pizza! I've never heard of hot milk cake. How was it?

The hot milk cake is great. Very simple, kind of like an eggy sponge cake, thickly iced.
